Joanne knows how much dance and music can mean to a child. She herself started dancing at the age of three, and loved everything about it. By age 7 she was already interested in pursuing dance as her future and by age 9 was well underway with her studies with the Royal Academy of Dance in England. She studied as a student teacher and achieved her dance and theater arts associates with RAD, as well as the National Association of teachers of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance. Still at a young age Joanne took a job with Madam Bluebelle out of Paris and Don Arden in the US and moved to Las Vegas to perform in great shows, such as Jubilee at Bally’s and Hello Hollywood Hello. She also performed in the Lido de Paris, the Moulin Rouge and the Follies Bergere. She then moved to New York City and began her quest to conquer Musical Theater. Performing in shows like Anything Goes, Crazy for You, Will Roger’s Follies and 42nd Street were a highlight in her career. Other professional credits include the 1988 Bob Hope Pre Olympic special and the Olympics show in the Seoul Korea and performing with many great musical stars like Sammy Davis Jr., Jerry Lewis, Carol Channing, Jermaine Jackson, and Gloria Estefan. Joanne completes her professional career as a performer while cruising around the world for several years, on cruise ships for Crystal Cruises, Royal Viking, Cunard and NCL. She loved traveling and of course the variety of shows she was able to perform and help teach. Now she brings this wealth of experience and her genuine love of children to all of her dance classes and looks forward to sharing with you and your children.
